The 85th Cubs are children aged 8 to 10
When: We meet on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30.
Current Status: 2025 Registration is full. No new spots will be available.
Due to a rather massive "swim up" of kids from Beavers to our Cub Pack at the end of last year, our pack will be full when registration opens up. Historically, kids on waitlists at the 85th don't get a chance to join as we have an extremely low attrition rate. Please consider some of the other amazing other local groups in the neighbourhood including the 32nd and 75th.
We have a very busy Cub Pack at the 85th. Whether we're learning camp skills, like fire starting, orienteering, cooking, or going for a hike, building bottle rockets, or heading to camp, we get active. We create amazing Kub Kars year after year, get out in the weather for hikes, skating, tobogganing and more.
Because you frequently ask:
- Typically our Pack, like all the sections for the 85th, has about a third girls. Scouting has been completely co-ed since the mid-90s, and we are accepting no matter how our friends self-identify.
- Yes, we do organize camps, usually three any given year for Cubs.
- No, we are not a badge-driven group. Our activities easily qualify for badges, but we focus on the value of the activity, not the badge.
