85th Beavers
The 85th Beavers are children age 5 to 7
When: We meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30.
Current Status: 2024 Registration FULL, with a waitlist.
The 85th has a strong Beaver Colony, that not only has a lot of fun but also tries to do some good for the community. Activities any given meeting can range from campfires, games, walks in the woods, learning about nature, camp skills like compass and map basics, cards for seniors who live in our community, movie nights, rocket night and so, much, much, much more.
Because you frequently ask:
- Typically our Colony, like all the sections for the 85th, has about a third girls. Scouting has been completely co-ed since the mid-90s, and we are accepting no matter how our friends self-identify.
- Yes, we do organize camps, usually in cabins for kids of the Beaver age.
- No, we are not a badge-driven group. Our activities easily qualify for badges, but we focus on the value of the activity, not the badge.
